Rated 3 out of 5 by Deb Men's Gloves versus Cheap Women's Gloves
I returned the women's version for this pair of Men's because the quality far surpassed the cheaply-made, sadly less protective leather, Women's pair (for the same $). My choice to buy a Men's medium was based on size while I wasn't biking (large was really bunched up) So although my thumb was a bit tight and thinking the leather should stretch, I finally had the opportunity to wear them this weekend. I did a 40 mile ride and was really in pain by mile 15. My hands got super swollen around the finger holes and the gloves got tighter and I had to open them + take them partially off -no longer fit like I expected- and I ride with an old leather pair that are also medium men's from Trek - made in the same manner. After releasing the pressure, I decided that I give the leather a chance to "break-in"- but if they don't improve may have to make a different decision.

Rated 5 out of 5 by Chuck Old school aesthetic
These are definitely old school look gloves to be appreciated by those of us old enough to wearing similar gloves when that was all there was. But they're modern otherwise. Comfortably snug fit (I have to kinda peel them off). "Just right" padding. One benefit of the retro design is a little bit more ventilation than modern "one piece" gloves. Just be prepared for funny tan lines. :-)

Rated 5 out of 5 by Slimbob64 I can't find anything better
I am on the third pair of these gloves (my brother, I think is only on his second) so we like them. A lot. They are comfortable and the padding is superb. They do tend not to last much longer than a season though (which is why I am on number 3) but then I don't think many gloves do. I will certainly buy them again as I haven't found anything better so far.
