Product Reviews
Rated 4.3 out of 5 by 9 reviewers.
Rated 4 out of 5 by warm glove I would consider myself to be of average size, 5'10" medium build and i have the XL which fit well! Maybe i could have got away with L, but i tried a friends XXL and they were ok but i thought 'i can't need XXL surely' and bought the XL. I have only used these gloves twice, both times on my road bike. I normally would take three pairs of gloves with me in the winter- a warm glove for the early cold start and then move to a thinner full finger glove as i heat up and probably end up on fingerless gloves at some point in the ride. This is because i hate sweaty hands, i can put up with too much heat in my torso but no way in my hands. This glove is the type i would wear first when it is very cold and for me it becomes too hot to leave on for a full ride, it would have to be extremely cold to do so. The terry snot wipe is so small as to be useless and you end up using the normal outer fabric most of the time to wipe your nose. I find when i am stood up riding on the hoods the gloves are not comfortable, and they feel weird because the lining moves against the outer. I think they are supposed to be an MTB glove so this may be unfair criticism, but you would expect to be able to use them for both. I will use these for walking in fowl weather and as my first glove when cycling in the cold winter months and as such i think they will be fine. For me they could be improved with a full thumb terry wipe, more strategic padding (standing riding on the hoods) and better ventilation. April 8, 2015
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good Winter Riding Gloves I use my gloves for commuting around town on cold days. They are comfortable, warm and have great grip. I've used them in temperatures around freezing and haven't had a problem with my hands getting cold. I haven't used these gloves for mountain biking though because I think they are a little too thick and my hands move around a bit in the liner reducing control (I typically ride with thin full-fingered MTB gloves year around). Rated 5 out of 5 by Almost too warm I wear AlpX between 20 and 40 degrees F, and then I go to the Tools - have been wearing these for the past 3 winters down below zero - no need for lobster mitts till I get below -10 degrees - it gets cold here, and I rode Stuporbowl (great alleycat for a Minnesota February) using these when race start was -3 and 5 o'clock, so the sun went down and it gets cold fast after sunset up here. Great grip for a winter glove, and I can be out for several hours without getting cold hands. October 28, 2014
