All GORE-TEX® garments and footwear - and only GORE-TEX® garments and footwear - carry our GUARANTEED TO KEEP YOU DRY® promise.

GORE-TEX Membrane

Membrane

At the heart of GORE-TEX® fabric is an extremely thin membrane that's durably waterproof, windproof, and breathable. It has over 9 billion pores per square inch.

GORE-TEX Waterproof

What Durably Waterproof Means

We believe waterproof garments shouldn’t leak - period. Many outdoor brands claim their products are waterproof but can’t always keep that promise over time in real-life conditions. We keep that promise. GORE-TEX® fabrics provide truly durable waterproofness, keeping water out through prolonged use in harsh conditions and demanding applications.

GORE-TEX Windproof

Truly Windproof

Although textiles like microfibers, closely woven fabrics, and many fleece materials are often considered windproof, even light winds can penetrate most of these fabrics, making you feel chilled and uncomfortable. In technical terms, a fabric can only be considered truly windproof if its air permeability is 1.0 cfm (volume of air that passes through one cubic foot of fabric in one minute) or less. All GORE-TEX® products meet or exceed this standard.

GORE-TEX Breathable

Highly Breathable

“Breathability” is one of the outdoor industry’s most misunderstood terms. It is not, as many believe, about a fabric’s ability to let air move through it, rather it refers to how well it lets your sweat escape in the form of moisture vapor. Our standards require that during heavy exertion our fabrics must breathe well enough to allow sweat to evaporate easily.

Product Reviews
Rated 4.7 out of 5 by 13 reviewers.
Rated 5 out of 5 by Great minimalist waterproof jacket I've used Goretex jackets and pants since 1985, but these were always mountain hardshells and a bit of an overkill in the long run for active biking. This is the first time I bought a bike-specific Goretex jacket and I must say I'm completely in awe. This Goretex Active fabric is way thinner, lighter and way breathier than a mountain jacket made of Goretex Pro. This Power Goretex Active jacket brings the essential of a truly waterproof bike jacket back to its minimalistic backbone design. Its value proposition is kept very simple indeed : make a bike jacket that is waterproof and breathable, period. There is absolutely no need for a hood, core ventings, arm pit zips nor chest pockets. If you wants these gimmicks, better get an Oxygen jacket. The fit is perfect, snug enough to wear a jersey and mid-layer but not overly baggy that will flap at high speed. I choose an medium size and it fits me perfectly for my 183 cm x 65 kg body frame (6' x 143 lbs). The long back tail covers my bum when standing up straight. The red high-visibility color is a real security stand-out at dusk or dawn. I just did a MTB ride for 1 hr in heavy rain (5-10 mm/hr) at 15°C/59°F, only wearing a thin long sleeve jersey as a base layer and it was just perfect. Not too clamy inside (no damp nor wetting out at the inside layer) despite some serious uphill workouts, absolutely 100% waterproof everywhere, not cold nor overheating at all as with my mountain jackets. Extremely happy at the end. However, there are 2 negative points so far that need to be improved for future versions of this jacket: 1) the neck collar is not too small nor too wide but it should be better fitted with an adjustable draw cord. When your hairs start to get really wet and soaked under the helmet, water droplets get along the neck and get inside the microfiber collar, thus wetting the top rim of the underlying jersey. A neck gaiter should stop that problem to occur but it will get too hot at the collar as well. An adjustable draw cord is the simplest and neatest solution to that water infiltration problem coming from wet hairs. 2) the wrist cuffs made of elastic material and thick Velcro closures are way too thick because they will absorb water like sponges after 1 hr, making water seeping in and soaking the underlying jersey at the wrist. Unfortunately, there are no taping below the seams at this important place. Better to get rid of the thick elastic and thick Velcro closure and make a simple adjustable draw cord closure at the wrist cuffs IMHO. October 25, 2016
Rated 5 out of 5 by Top notch jacket This jacket fits the athletic body style perfectly. It's comfortable for easy rides and stylish as a rain jacket for work. I'd highly recommend it. October 10, 2016
Rated 4 out of 5 by Good rain jacket with some minor oversights Overall I like this jacket. Living in Portland, OR a good rain piece is essential. The cut is good but it is a bit baggy in the front for me personally. Even so I do note that even during fast descents the jacket does not flap. Sleeve length is good (those long suffering with long arms rejoice); thank you Gore. I am split on the elastic sleeve cuffs. Some days it is raining but not cold. I like to have an arm cuff that can sit open a bit so air can flow through the arm sleeves. I like to pull my sleeves over my gloves on days it is raining steadily. The elastic gathers on the sleeves make that a chore. I would like to see some core venting. Gore has told me they are all about being waterproof and that is why they don't do under arm vent zippers. A mistake in my opinion. This jacket could benefit from a two way zipper. Speaking of the zipper I would like to see something more robust that could easily be manipulated with cold or gloved hands. The neck cuff could be a bit taller (nit picking). Being a Gore-Tex the waterproofing is excellent. The rear pocket is a good size although my heavier winter gloves are going to be a tight fit. Reflective details minimal but smartly placed. Gore products are wash and wear. I have had Gore jackets in the past and have experienced good long term durability. I purchased this jacket as a replacement for one I tore during a crash. If you are looking for a solid rain jacket that will give you years of reliable service this one is worth a look. June 14, 2016
